The Young Family joined J & R Guide Service on Monroe on a WINDY Saturday afternoon on 11/12/11 , and caught 31 Crappie , 4 Yellow Bass , 2 Bluegill and a Wopper 27" Walleye . Fish were taken on 1/8 oz. Jigs and minnows in17 feet of water on the Main Lake .

Doug Carter from Bedford IN shows a nice Monroe Walleye he caught on Monroe on Wed. morning along with 24 Wipers , 30 yellow Bass and a Crappie with J & R Guide Service . Fish were caught in 2 - 4 feet of water on 1/8oz. jigs and night crawlers on the main lake  . Surface water temperature was reading 60 dgrees . 

Tim Zwieble and Family caught 35 Wipers (12 - 24 in ) 10 Yellow Bass and 10 Crappie on Monday morning 10/10/11 with J & R Guide Service . Fish were taken on jigs and minnows in 14 feet of water on the main lake , 

Lewis Freedman  , outdoor writer from Columbus IN ,  caught  23 wipers , 10 yellow bass , 2 crappie and 1 channel cat  with J & R Guide Service on Thursday afternoon .  Fish were chasing shad in the back of main lake coves . 1/8 oz jigs and minnows worked well .

Dillon Pruett from Bedford IN ,  took his first Deer with J & R on 9/24/11  using a Rossi 44 mag rifle. Dillon is 9 years old .

The fall fishing on Monroe Reservoir has begin with several nice Crappie taken on 1/8oz jigs and minnows in 14 feet of water on wood structure in the mouth of main lake bays on 9/23/11 . Some large Crappie were caught in deep water down to 25 feet . Surface Water temperature is reading 69 degrees . Largemouth Bass can be caught on Buzz Baits and Rebel Pop Rs around shallow rocky points on the main lake .

Sam & Adam Tlustek along with J T  Pruett from Bedford IN , caught a 4 man limit of 8 - 10 inch Crappie on Wed. morning 8/3/11 . They were using 1/8oz jigs and minnows in 12 feet of water on the main lake . 

Payton & Jackson Kuhan from New York caught a cooler full of 7 - 10 inch Crappie on Monroe Reservoir fishing Docks . Fish were suspended at 15 feet in 18 foot of water .  1/8 jigs and minnows was the bait .

Trace Hawkins and JT Pruett from Bedford IN , caught 15 Crappie and 42 Bluegill on Crickets and Minnows in the middle fork area of Monroe Reservoir on Thursday afternoon . 

Josh Merrill , Sam & Mikel Telustek from Bedford IN , caught a load of Big Gills , 5 channel cats and one Bass on Crickets along rocky shorelines in the middle fork area of Monroe Reservoir .

Cale Cameaux and family from Louisiana , caught 53 Crappie with J & R on the main lake using 1/8 oz. jigs and minnows . Fish were suspended around structure at 12 feet in 18 foot of water .

Adam and  Andrew Wessell caught a double limit of Crappie on Monroe  with J & R on Friday morning  7/8/11 .  Fish were caught suspended at 12 feet in 18 feet of water on the main lake .  Bait -  1/8 oz  jigs with minnows . Catfish are hitting on Shrimp and Wipers are being taken on top water baits and crankbaits along rocky shorelines at night .

Monroe Reservoir - Crappie are biting good on the main lake on jigs and minnows , Fish are suspended over structure from 7 - 12 feet of water . Catfish are hitting on shrimp , shad guts . We are taking some good Bass on the points late and early on Rebel Pop - Rs . Surface temperature is reading 78 degrees .

Boggs Creek - Channels and Bull Head Catfish are hitting on shrimp and shad guts , Try banks close to the main creek channel .

JT Pruett from Bedford IN , huntin down those Monroe Slab Crappie on 6/6/11 with J & R Guide Service . Big Crappie are still roaming the flooded buck brush in 10 - 12 feet of water . Large 3 inch Berkley Power Grubs on 1/8 oz. lead head jigs will often entice these larger Crappie to hit .  JT had several fish in the 15 - 16 inch range .

The Sievers from Terra Haute IN , caught a limit of Crappie on Monroe Reservoir with J & R Guide Service on 5/28/11 on 1/8oz jigs and black/chartreus grubs . With the lake dropping it seems the bigger fish are pullingback to were the origonal bank lays . Try swimming your jigs out infront of the edge of the flooded brush , usually about 30 yards out . 

Doug Carter from Bedford IN , caught a limit of Crappie on Monroe Reservoir with J & R Guide Service on Thursday afternoon . Fish are in the newly flooded timber and buck brush , spawning , and can be taken on a variety of 1/8 oz jigs and curly tail grubs or tubes. Roadrunners are also a good choice . Jigging around the structure or just swimming the jig seems to work well .  Black/ chartreus is my favorite color on Monroe . Water surface temperature is reading 64 degrees .

The upper end of the lake is now accessable . A bass boat and most fishing boats can now pass under the st hwy 446 bridge . Crappie and Bass are in the flooded trees and willows in the back of most bays spawning . Surface water temperatures are reading 65 degrees as of 5/16/11 . Shown are a couple of Monroe Crappie taken on monday afternoon .  

Bob Corcoran from Louisville KY ,  took a nice Gobbler with J & R Guide Service on 4/6/11 .

George Hill from Madison IN , along with some friends took 69 Crappie on Monroe on Wed. afternoon with J & R Guide Service . Surface Water temperature was 59 degrees and stained . Fish were caught on the Main Lake with jigs and grubs .

Ed Hunger from Spearsville IN , took his first Turkey with J & R Guide Service on 4/29/11 . Looks like Fried taters and Turkey for supper for Ed .

Crappie have moved into shallow bays with the warming 61 degree surface temps. I/8 Southern Pro Jig Heads with Black/Chartreus Tail works good . Monroe Reservoir is around 9 feet above summer pool and very stainned after the large amounts of recent rain .

These Fishin Kids started the season out right with some nice Crappie and Large Mouths on 4/2/11 . All fish were caught on minnows in 6 feet of water . Monroe Reservoir water temperature is reading 49 degrees .
